Seedance 2.5 does something that still feels a little unreal: up to 30 seconds of video, with sound, in one continuous take. No stitching, no visible seams.
But a long take is unforgiving. Every second has to be about something, or the model starts improvising. The prompts below are written to keep all 30 seconds on track. They're organized by use case, so you can find one close to your idea, paste it in, and change the details.
Every prompt here works in the Seedance 2.5 AI video generator on AI Studio, where you can run Seedance 2.5 directly in your browser.
What's different about Seedance 2.5
ByteDance launched Seedance 2.5 on July 31, 2026. A few of its features change how you should write prompts:
- Up to 30 seconds per generation, with audio. The previous version topped out at 15 seconds per pass.
- Timestamped prompting. ByteDance says you can control the story, camera, movement, and rhythm in specific time windows, like "0–5s: …"
- Lots of references. Officially, up to 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio clips in one pass.
- Better shot transitions, and fewer unwanted subtitles and background music, according to ByteDance.
- Known weak spots. ByteDance itself notes room for improvement in complex motion physics and in scene stability when several subjects interact.
Seven habits for better Seedance 2.5 prompts
- Write in time segments. For anything over about 10 seconds, break the prompt into beats: "0–8s," "8–18s," "18–30s." ByteDance's own example prompts use this format.
- Name your references. If you upload several images, say exactly what each one is: "the woman in reference image 1, the red backpack in reference image 2." ByteDance's examples use tags like @Image 1. On AI Studio, plain descriptions like these work well.
- Ask for one continuous take when you want one. Phrases like "single continuous take, no cuts" help keep the shot unbroken.
- Describe the camera move in plain words. "Slow push-in," "orbit right," "handheld follow," "crane up."
- Write a sound line. Audio is generated with the picture, so say what you want to hear, and what you don't: "no music," "no on-screen text."
- Keep the crowd small. Given the model's weakness with interacting subjects, one to three characters is the safe zone.
- Draft cheap, finish sharp. On AI Studio, generate drafts at 480p and render the keeper at 1080p.

Bonus for advanced users: In ByteDance's own apps, Seedance 2.5 can also use clay render references, rough 3D blockouts that set the layout, character poses, and camera path. If you work in 3D, block out your scene, export it, and reference it alongside your prompt. Check whether your platform supports this mode before relying on it.

When to use Seedance 2.0 instead
Seedance 2.5 isn't always the right pick. If you want a short image-to-video clip with sound, the Seedance 2.0 video generator is still very strong. In the Artificial Analysis rankings reported by GIGAZINE in August 2026, Seedance 2.0 placed first for image-to-video with audio. It generates about 15 seconds per pass, which is plenty for most social clips.
And if you want to see how your prompt looks in a different model entirely, AI Studio's AI video generator lets you run it through models like Kling 4.0, Gemini Omni, and Happy Horse too.
